Air India-Boeing Deal: Air India will soon buy 220 Boeing aircraft from America. US President Joe Biden on Tuesday (February 14) praised the agreement and described it as historic. Air India will buy 220 Boeing aircraft for $34 billion. Apart from this, there will be an option to buy 70 more aircraft. This will make the total deal $ 45.9 billion.

Air India and France’s Airbus also signed a deal
Earlier, Air India has announced to buy 250 aircraft from France’s Airbus on Tuesday itself. Of these, 40 will be large size aircraft. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran gave this information. The airline is preparing to expand its fleet and operations. This is the first time in 17 years that Air India is placing orders for purchase of aircraft. This is Air India’s first order after coming under the ownership of the Tata group.
The Tata Group-owned airline has signed a deal with Airbus to buy 40 wide-body A350s and 210 small-body aircraft. Prime Minister at the launch event of the deal between Air India and Airbus Narendra Modi And French President Emmanuel Macron participated through video conferencing.

In the online meeting, Chandrasekaran said that a letter of intent has been signed with Airbus for the purchase of these aircraft. Large size aircraft will be used for long distance flights. The airline placed the last order in 2005
The airline had last placed an order for the purchase of 111 aircraft in 2005. Of these, 68 aircraft were ordered by Boeing and 43 by Airbus. The Tata group had completed one year of the acquisition of Air India on 27 January. At that time, the airline had said that it was finalizing a historic order for the purchase of new aircraft to drive future growth.
