Pakistan Economic Crisis: The economic crisis has deepened in Pakistan. There is a huge shortage of foreign exchange reserves in the country. Inflation has increased so much that it is difficult for people to even get bread for two days. Meanwhile, former PM of Pakistan Imran Khan has taunted the Shehbaz Sharif government over the economic crisis. He said that the situation in Pakistan is like treating cancer with Disprin.
Former PM of Pakistan Imran Khan said that inflation will increase due to debt, due to which there is a possibility of deepening the economic crisis.
‘Treatment of cancer with Disprin’
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal as “treating cancer with disprin”.
He said the IMF deal would only provide temporary relief. This will ultimately lead the country towards a big disaster as the debt burden will keep on increasing. Imran Khan made these remarks on Wednesday (February 15) in a televised address from his Zaman Park residence.
Criticism of Shahbaz government’s policies
Criticizing the economic policies of the country’s government, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman said, “Only from the political field Imran Khan Do not ruin the country to exclude. Pakistan is now sinking into more anarchy like Sri Lanka.” Citing the latest report of Fitch rating agency, the former PM of Pakistan warned that the situation would worsen.
Inflation will increase further with mini budget- Imran
According to the report, Fitch rating agency has downgraded Pakistan’s long-term foreign currency issuer default rating to ‘CCC-‘, which means the country’s economic condition has already reached Sri Lanka’s level. He also said that the mini budget will bring another wave of inflation and the salaried class and housewives will feel the impact as there will be a decline in purchasing power.
