Union Budget 2023: In the Agriculture Budget 2023, the Modi government has opened a box of relief for the farmers. Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told that now the money of the minimum support price will be directly transferred to the bank account of the farmers. If farmers get money through DBT, then there will be no tension of getting late payment from mandis or middlemen. Government claims that digital payment will help in preventing corruption. If the payment comes in the account on time, then the farmers will also be benefited.
Increase in MSP of Rabi crops
The Union Cabinet had increased the minimum support price of major pulses, oilseeds and food grains crops for the Rabi marketing season in October 2022 itself. The government increased the price of lentils by Rs 500 and mustard by Rs 400 per quintal.
Apart from this, an increase of Rs 209 in the price of safflower, an increase of Rs 110 and Rs 100 per quintal in the prices of wheat, gram and barley was also approved. Now soon the purchase of Rabi crops will be started, in which the farmers will get double benefit. Now the farmers will not only get higher prices for their produce, the payment will also be directly transferred to the bank account.
digitization of agricultural land
Presenting Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that now the government is going to focus on organic farming and natural farming. Its benefits will be given to the farmers already associated with organic-natural farming. Also, new farmers will also be linked to this system.
Now digitization is being promoted in agriculture. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told that now land records will also be digitized. In this case, the data released by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR) under the Union Ministry of Rural Development for the year 2022 has shown that land records have been digitized in more than 94 percent of India’s villages.
In this case, the computerization work of registration in 27 States/Union Territories has been completed up to 93%. 75% integration of sub-registrar offices with land records has also been done in 20 States/UTs. At the same time, more than 70% land tax related maps have also been digitized in 21 states/union territories.
Agricultural inputs will come under digital service
In the new budget, the Modi government has planned to cooperate with the farmers who cultivate fruits and vegetables. The government will cooperate with the states to increase the productivity of horticulture crops. An amount of 2,200 crores will be allocated for this. Now agricultural inputs will also be made available online to the farmers. An announcement has also been made to bring services like fertilizers, seeds, medicines, documents etc. under digital service.
