At the same time, 24 thousand tonnes of paddy has been purchased against the target.
Why are farmers selling paddy cheaply?
In Bihar Sharif of the state, there is a crisis in front of the farmers that the farmers are not able to sell paddy at the rate fixed by the government. The reason behind this is the arbitrariness of the middlemen. The middlemen are not ready to buy paddy from the farmers at a price above Rs.1750. At the same time, the responsibility of paddy procurement in Bihar has been entrusted to PACS. On the other hand, packs have started cutting 5 to 6 percent in the name of moisture, dust and dust. Farmers are not getting the price of MSP even at government centers. That’s why we are forced to sell cheaply.
