Petrol and diesel prices have been increased by Rs 35 in Pakistan from Sunday (January 29). Reports say that the financial agency International Monetary Fund has demanded some reforms from Pakistan to release the funds, which also includes increasing the prices of petroleum.
According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has announced an increase of Rs 35 in the prices of petrol and diesel. Dar has also given the reason behind this increase. He said, “The Pakistani rupee weakened last week and now we are seeing an 11 per cent increase in the prices of petroleum products in the international market.”
At what price are flour and pulses available in Pakistan?
The flour crisis in Pakistan recently made headlines in the media around the world. According to the news of The News, currently a 10 kg bag of flour is available at utility stores in Islamabad for Rs.648. Earlier its price was Rs.248. At the same time, a 15 kg bag of flour, which was sold for Rs 972 at utility stores, is now being sold for Rs 1,980. Five days ago, the price of the same flour bag was Rs 2,300.
Due to the shortage of wheat in the country, the prices of flour have increased. The shopkeepers are not able to give everyone 10 or 15 kg of flour at once. Many shopkeepers have made a rule to sell three kilos of flour to one person. At the same time, there has also been a decrease in the number of buyers of flour.
Pulses stock left for only 15 days
Quoting reports published on Friday (January 27), Ary News has told that the stock of pulses (pulses) in Pakistan is left for only 15 days, so the prices may increase further. According to the report, the price of gram dal has been increased by 1.74%, moong dal by 1.38%, rice (Eri-6/9) by 4.51% and basmati broken rice by 3.56%.
Onion is available up to Rs 250 per kg
According to the report, the price of onion has been increased by 5.51%, garlic by 3.56% and tomato by 4.18%.
At the same time, according to the news of BBC, the price of onion in Pakistan has increased from 220 to 250 rupees per kg. 40 to 50 rupees are being taken from people for 200 grams of onion. There is a difference in onion prices in different cities. In Quetta, onion is available at Rs 250 to 260 per kg. It is being sold at Rs 230 to 250 in Peshawar, Rs 240 in Karachi and Rs 220 to 240 in Lahore.
