Aero India 2023: After the dog fight with the Pakistani Air Force after the Pulwama attack and Balakot air-strike, the Indian Air Force is preparing for electronic warfare. This information was given by Deputy Chief of the Air Force, Air Marshal N Tiwari on Tuesday (February 14). ABP News has a special conversation with the Deputy Chief in the ongoing Aero India show in Bengaluru.
Air Marshal Tiwari said that after the dog fight with Pakistan, the Indian Air Force has worked to enhance its capabilities in three ways. The first is by upgrading our out-of-date fighter jets. Under this, Mirage 2000, MiG 29 and Sukhoi fighter jets have been upgraded and equipped with new missiles and avionics. Apart from this, new weapons and long range missiles have also been included in the Air Force. According to the deputy chief, long range missiles like indigenous air to air Astra missile and anti-radiation, Rudram missile have now become part of the Air Force.
Why did the air strike happen?
Let us tell you that to avenge the Pulwama attack, on 26 February 2019, India carried out a major air strike on the training camp of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan. The Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force bombed the Jaish terrorist camp in Balakot and killed a large number of terrorists. Enraged by this air strike, Pakistan tried to carry out an air attack on India the next day, but the Air Force failed it.
Who will be inducted in the Air Force?
Wing Commander Abhinandan of the Air Force had shot down Pakistan’s F-16 fighter aircraft in a dog fight. However, the MiG-21 had also crashed and Wing Commander Abhinandan was taken hostage by Pakistan, but after pressure was created, Pakistan released Abhinandan unconditionally. It is believed that Pakistan had jammed the MiG-21 of Wing Commander Abhinandan, due to which he could not listen to the order of his command and control center and entered PoK. This is the reason that the Indian Air Force is now engaged in increasing its capabilities in electronic warfare. The Deputy Chief of the Air Force told that the systems related to electronic warfare have been prepared and soon they will be included in the Air Force.
‘Better than ever’
Air Marshal Tiwari also informed that in the near future, the Indian Air Force will induct aircraft like indigenous Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), LCK Mark 1A and LCA Mark-2 into its fighting squadrons. Apart from this, the Air Force is also trying for 114 Multirole Fighter Aircraft (MFRA) under Make in India. Deputy Chief said on preparations against two-front i.e. China and Pakistan together that our preparations have been better than before and will get better in the near future. That’s why no one should doubt the military preparedness of the Air Force.
