Russian Defense Official: A Russian defense officer has died after falling from the 16th floor of a multi-storey building in Saint Petersburg, Russia. According to media reports, Marina Yankina was the head of the Finance Department for the Russian Army in Ukraine. Called husband before death
Marina Yankina’s personal belongings were found on the 16th floor of the multi-storey building. Citing media outlet Mash on Moika, the media report said that Yankina first called her husband and informed him of what she intended to do. Along with this, he also asked to call the police. Minutes after the call, she was found dead. Prior to joining the Western Army Area, Yankina served in the Federal Tax Service and also served as deputy chairman of the Property Related Committee of St. Petersburg. She is believed to have been at the center of efforts to strengthen funding for the war launched by Russia on 24 February.
