The UMD/GSFC Joint Space Science Institute (JSI) is happy to announce that this year’s JSI Fall Conference will be:

A NICER Legacy: Neutron Stars, Black Holes, and Time-Domain Astronomy

This conference will bring together specialists from the astrophysics and physics community to discuss the many aspects of the discoveries and legacy of NASA’s Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) mission. Topics to be discussed include:

  • Variable galactic nuclei
  • Outbursting stellar-mass black hole binaries
  • Magnetars and accreting neutron stars
  • Synergies and the future
