Orbital Sidekick, Inc. operates a three-satellite constellation carrying identical hyperspectral instruments that deliver high-resolution (8-meter) hyperspectral imagery across 472 spectral bands to support a range of Earth science applications, including the detailed analysis of biodiversity, ecosystem health, and surface geology; greenhouse gas detection; and detecting solid chemicals related to pollutants. Each satellite is designed with a maximum off-nadir pointing angle of 25 degrees, which expands the accessible ground swath and enables flexible tasking. When operating individually, each satellite provides regular revisit opportunities across mid- and low-latitude regions. When operated as a three-satellite constellation, the revisit rates increase, particularly at higher latitudes, where overlapping orbital tracks provide enhanced temporal coverage. This capability allows users to receive frequent, daylight-consistent revisits around the globe to support the monitoring of both broad-areas and specific areas of interest.

Authorized Data Use and Users
Access to this data is governed by the CSDA End User License Agreements (EULAs). The minimum access level for data is the USG license. Depending on the specific data products provided, some or all data may also be available under higher-tier CSDA licenses, including USG-Plus and Public licenses.
Under the applicable license tier, authorized users may include:
- U.S. Government federal employees
- State, local, territorial, and tribal government personnel
- U.S. Government contractors and subcontractors
- U.S. Government–funded researchers and academic partners
- Other users authorized under applicable CSDA license levels (USG, USG-Plus, or Public)
All data use must comply with the terms of the EULA. All data requests must be reviewed and approved by NASA’s Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) program.
