Gujarat AAP: The Aam Aadmi Party may not have achieved any major success in Mission Gujarat, but AAP’s national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is upbeat. They have already started preparing for the future in Gujarat. For this, he has made a big bet. The AAP on Saturday (January 29) appointed tribal MLA Chaitar Vasava as the leader of the Gujarat Legislature Party and Hemant Khawa as its deputy leader.
Understand strategy in 5 points
- In the 182-member Gujarat assembly, AAP has only 5 MLAs while BJP has 156 and Congress has 17. In last year’s assembly elections in Gujarat, AAP leader Chaitar Vasava won from Dediapada, a tribal seat, by about 40,000 votes. He defeated BJP candidate Hitesh Vasava. Kejriwal is very happy with this performance of Chaitra.
- The way the AAP party has recently made major changes in the leadership in the state. It is clear from that that Kejriwal has now given a new target to the team. The party has laid the foundation for developing the youth brigade in Gujarat. Vasava said, “In his first budget session of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly starting on February 24, he will raise issues related to tribals, especially education, health and roads.”
- Chaitra Vasava is a big tribal leader from AAP. Seeing the talent of Chaitra Vasava, the party has made him the working president of South Gujarat Zone. The party is now working on a strategy to make him the poster boy. Assembly elections are to be held in important states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan by the end of this year. A large population of tribals lives in these states. AAP is also going to try its luck in these states. In such a situation, Chaitra Vasava is going to be of great use there.
- In 2024, PM Modi can get a tough fight with Kejriwal. Kejriwal has already started preparations for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. There are 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat. The BJP had done a clean sweep in the last two Lok Sabha elections (2014 and 2019). Now the Aam Aadmi Party is eyeing tribal-dominated seats. According to the information, the party has made a special strategy for 6 seats. In this, 2 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 4 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes.
- AAP has dissolved the state executive of Madhya Pradesh with immediate effect. On behalf of AAP’s National Organization General Secretary Dr. Sandeep Pathak, it has been said on January 28 that the party dissolves the Madhya Pradesh executive with immediate effect. He has also talked about forming a new executive committee soon. Like Gujarat, the Aam Aadmi Party is now trying to register its presence in Madhya Pradesh as well.
