ICAR-IARI: Amidst the uncertainties of the weather, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR) has issued an agricultural advisory, so that timely management works can be done and losses can also be reduced. Due to frost in the last few days, a lot of damage was seen in the crops. Here, due to rain in many areas, the work of natural irrigation was done. Meanwhile, farmers are being advised that if it has rained in your area in the past, do not do irrigation work in the standing crops.

These days, symptoms of rust disease are being seen in the wheat crop, for the prevention of which continuous monitoring is being advised. If traces of black, brown or yellow rust are seen in the wheat crop, Dithane M-45 dissolved in 2.5 grams per liter of water can be sprinkled on the crop.
- Often yellow rust disease thrives in 10-20°C temperature, but yellow rust does not remain on the crop if the temperature is above 25°C.
- Similarly, brown rust disease also thrives in 15-25 °C temperature and humid weather conditions, while black rust disease requires temperature above 20 °C and low humidity.
Pest management in chickpea crop
These days there is a crisis of borer in gram crop. If 40-45% flowering has been achieved in the crop, then it is advisable to apply 3 to 4 pheromone traps per acre, so that pests can be controlled without spraying. According to experts, “T” shaped bird perches can also be planted in the middle of the crop.

This is the time when the temperature is favorable for sowing vegetables, so if the farmer brothers want, they can transplant the cucumber, chilli, tomato and brinjal plants prepared in the nursery in the field. This time is favorable for planting tomato, chilli and cabbage. At this time sowing of D-A-4, Parbani Kranti and Arka Anamika varieties of okra can be done with seed rate of 10 to 15 kg per acre.

If potato crop has been planted in the field, then the crop should be protected from the attack of blight disease and preventive measures should be taken. As soon as the initial symptoms of scorching disease appear, 2 grams of Captain can be dissolved in per liter of water and sprayed on the crop.
