PM Modi in Rajya Sabha: In response to the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha, on Thursday (February 9), PM Modi gave the definition of secularism. PM Modi said that our government is ensuring that the benefits of various government schemes reach all the eligible beneficiaries, this is true secularism.
PM Modi said in a poetic way in the House that, “The mud was with him, Gulal was with me, whatever he had, he gave it a bounce.” He said that it is good, the more mud you throw, the more the lotus will bloom.
The PM said that in the past decades, many intellectuals have given direction to the country from this House, have guided the country. Whatever happens in this country, the country listens to it very seriously. It is unfortunate that the behavior and speech of some people is disappointing not only to the House but also to the country.
Targeting the previous governments, PM Modi said that people were facing problems, but their priorities were different and hence they never tried to find permanent solutions to the problems. We found ways to solve the water problem. We paid attention to every aspect like water conservation and water irrigation. We connected people with the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign.
