Mushroom Farming: In today’s modern era, education is also being linked with technology and innovations. Children should not be limited to bookish knowledge only, but can do something new in the interest of the country in future, therefore, practical knowledge of different fields is also being given. Government schools of UP have started giving practical knowledge of agriculture to the children. According to the latest report, now a special initiative is being taken in the government upper primary school of Lodipur Nivada in Hamirpur district of UP. Here children are being taught mushroom cultivation along with book knowledge, so that the trend of children can be increased in this sector as well. The principals of the school are themselves giving training to the children in mushroom farming. At the same time, whatever mushroom production is being received with the help of children, it is also being served in the mid-day meal.
Farmers are learning mushroom farming like this
Along with education, children are being taught mushroom production in Government Upper Primary School located in Lodipur Nivada district of Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. The teacher and principal here are giving information about the expenses, income, management of farming, care etc. to the children in mushroom cultivation. Not only farming, the children of government schools are also being made aware of things that will be useful in future.
Mushroom is a low cost farming
In a report by India Today, Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Principal of Government Upper Primary School, explains that mushroom production is a low-cost farming, which can be started with very little expenditure. In this work only things related to daily routine are used along with pesticides, water, straw and seeds.
First of all, a mixture of all the ingredients is prepared, which is put in layers inside a plastic polybag. Along with this mushroom spawn ie seed is also put. These polybags have to be kept in a dark room, where the temperature is 15 to 20 degrees. The mushroom seeds germinate within a few days and the crop is available within 20 days.
Mushroom made special mid-day meal
Now the mushroom which has been produced from the children after taking training of the principal and teacher in the school, is improving the health of the children. This mushroom is being used to make mid-day meal. In the report, the principal and teachers of the school told that the interest of children in such activities is increasing. In future, children can also make it their source of income.
