Turkey Earthquake: There was a severe earthquake in Turkey and Syria on Monday (February 6). In this earthquake, more than 3 thousand people of Turkey lost their lives and adding the death toll of Syria, the number has crossed 5 thousand. Around 84 countries of the world extended their helping hand in this hour of grief for Turkey, in which India has sent two NDRF teams and a medical team of 90 members.
Meanwhile, heart touching news has also come to the fore. A 9-year-old Turkish child donated all his piggy bank money to the Earthquake Relief Fund. Last year this child also suffered an earthquake. The name of the nine-year-old child is Alparslan Efe Demir.
Child has suffered the pain of earthquake
Alparslan Efe Demir was forced to live in a tent after a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey’s northwestern Dujce province in November. Demir’s heart broke when he saw footage of the devastation on television. Distressed by the plight of thousands of people, the boy told his mother, Sinam Demir, that he wanted to donate all the money in his piggy bank to the relief fund. Efe Demir went to the Turkish Red Crescent’s Deuz branch with his mother and handed over the money to the officials. He also wrote a letter to the survivors of the earthquake.
‘One should not starve under any circumstances’
Efe Demir wrote in the letter, “I was very scared when there was an earthquake in my city Duj. I felt the same fear when I heard about earthquakes in many of my cities, so I decided to send the pocket money given by my elders to the children there. I don’t have any problem if I don’t eat chocolate for a few days. Under no circumstances should children go hungry in an earthquake prone area. I will also give all my clothes and toys to the children.
