Union Budget 2023: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday (February 4) questioned the government on giving financial assistance to the Taliban government of Afghanistan in the Union Budget for its development there.
CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted and wrote, “Is it right to give funds to Taliban in our country by cutting the funds of education, health and Delhi? People are strongly opposing it. In this Union Budget, the Central Government has announced a proposal for a development assistance package of $ 25 million, or Rs 200 crore, for Afghanistan.
What is the matter?
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced in the budget to give Rs 200 crore as assistance to Afghanistan for its development. India has provided financial assistance for the second time after the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan. According to news agency ANI, help was also announced in the last budget.

What did the Taliban say?
Suhail Shaheen, a member of the Taliban’s negotiation team, said, “We appreciate India’s financial help. This will help improve the relationship between the two countries and increase trust. He further told that India is funding many projects in Afghanistan. If India continues this, the relations between the two countries will improve.
Let us tell you that CM Arvind Kejriwal has said that once again step-motherly treatment has been given to the people of Delhi in the budget. People paid more than 1.75 lakh crore income tax last year. Out of that only Rs 325 crore was given for the development of Delhi.
