US Visa For Indians: To get US Visa, Indians still have to wait for more than 500 days to get an appointment. To end this problem, the American Embassy has now come up with a new method as well. Citing the example of Thailand, the US Embassy said there is appointment capacity available for B1 and B2 visas (travel and business).
The US Embassy in India gave this information on Sunday (February 5). The embassy has a saying, “Is your upcoming trip international? If so, you may be able to get a visa appointment at the US embassy or consulate in your destination. B1/B2 placement capacity has been opened for traveling Indians.”
Waiting time is up to 800 days
The embassy said, “Indians who are traveling abroad can obtain a visa appointment by visiting the US Embassy or Consulate there.” The move is aimed at reducing the backlog, with the waiting period for US visas being up to 800 days at some centers in India. The US Embassy said today, “Indians applying for business or tourist visas will be able to apply for postings at embassies or consulates outside India.”
Organized Special Interview Day
To reduce the delay in granting visa, America recently started a new initiative. This includes scheduling special interviews for first-time applicants and increasing the number of consular staff. Apart from this, to reduce the visa backlog, the US Embassy organized a special Saturday Interview Day on January 21 in many cities of India.
