Agriculture Budget In Kerala: The agriculture sector is continuously growing in the country. In the Union Budget presented on February 1, the fabric of development of agriculture sector in the country was woven. The central government started many important schemes related to farmers. Farmers will get their benefits in the coming time. Apart from the Centre, it is also the responsibility of the states to prepare a framework for the future of the farmers in the domestic budget. Their income should increase, technology should be promoted in farming and other benefits may be available. The Kerala government has presented a similar budget in the interest of the farmers.

Kerala government fixed Rs 971 crore for agriculture development
Last Friday, Finance Minister of Kerala Government KN Bal Gopal presented the budget in the assembly. In this budget, a target of Rs 971.71 crore has been set for the development of agriculture sector. This amount will be spent on the new scheme of the state government, operating the old scheme, upgrading agriculture and increasing income.

Support price of coconut increased to Rs 34 per kg
The state of Kerala is a big state of coconut production. The coconut produced here goes to different parts of the country. Farmers also earn well by cultivating coconut. According to media reports, till now the support price of coconut in the state was Rs.32. But the state finance minister has increased it to Rs 34 per kg. This will benefit lakhs of farmers of the state.

Funds increased for rice expenditure
Rice is also sown in large quantities in Kerala. While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said that the current expenditure for the development of rice was Rs 76 crore, which has been increased to Rs 95.10 crore. At the same time, the state government has also kept 732.46 crores for the care of the crop. Apart from this, Rs 93.45 crore will be spent on comprehensive vegetable cultivation programme, Rs 68.95 crore will be spent on coconut development schemes. Rs 25 crore has been kept in the budget for the production and distribution of coconut seeds.

Promotion of other schemes in the budget
The Kerala government has taken care of agriculture on a large scale in the budget. An amount of Rs 89.75 crore has been earmarked for soil and water conservation, Rs 4.60 crore for spice cultivation, and Rs 18.92 crore for promoting the production of indigenous and foreign fruits. At the same time, the budget allocation of Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council, Keralam has increased. Earlier it was 25 crores. In this budget it has been increased to Rs 30 crore. A provision of Rs 2 crore has been made to stop the movement of wild animals in the populated area.
