Mahila Samman Saving Certificate: Yesterday Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the last full budget (Budget 2023) of the second term of the Modi government. In Budget 2023, the Finance Minister has made several announcements for every section of the country. In order to provide financial security to half of the country’s population, the Finance Minister has announced the launch of ‘Mahila Samman Bachat Patra Yojana’ (Mahila Samman Saving Certificate) in the budget speech yesterday.
This scheme is specially designed to give financial independence to women. By investing in this scheme, women will get returns under 7.5 percent for two years. This account can be opened only in the name of women or girls (Mahila Samman Saving Certificate Eligibility).
Know how much money can be deposited in the scheme?
Under this scheme, women can invest up to a maximum of Rs 2 lakh for two years. In this, they get returns under 7.5 per cent. In such a situation, the interest rate available on this scheme is much higher than Public Provident Fund (PPF), National Savings Certificate (NSC), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP). By investing in this scheme, women will also get the benefit of tax rebate. Let us tell you that in order to make women self-reliant, for the first time such a scheme (Small Saving Scheme for Women) has been started, in which an interest rate of up to 7.5 percent is being offered. At present, the government has not given information about the age of investment in schemes and the rest of the eligibility, but things will be clarified in the coming times.
Investment limit increased in senior citizen scheme
The Finance Minister has given a wonderful gift to women as well as senior citizens of the country. Making a big announcement for senior citizens, Nirmala Sitharaman said that now the maximum investment limit in Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) has been increased from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. Now senior citizens will get the benefit of this. At the same time, the limit of investment in Sing account has been increased from 4.5 lakhs to 7 lakhs.
