In the Parliament of Canada, MP Chandra Arya said, “Hindu Canadians are deeply saddened by the growing Hinduphobia in Canada.” Describing it as a dangerous trend, he has appealed to the Canadian government to stop the increasing hate-crimes against Hindus. Citing a study, the Indian-origin Canadian MP said that Hinduphobia is turning into physical assault. Earlier on Tuesday, he had said that Hindu and anti-India groups are targeting temples.

India strongly condemned
The Consulate General of India in Toronto also condemned the incident of vandalism at the Gauri Shankar temple on Tuesday and said that it has hurt the sentiments of the Indian community in Canada. The Indian Mission wrote in its tweet, “We strongly condemn the vandalism incident at the Gauri Shankar Temple in Brampton, a symbol of Indian heritage. The vandalism has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Indian community in Canada. We have expressed our concern on this matter with the Canadian authorities.
