The passenger had to go to Bihar, IndiGo Airlines brought him to Rajasthan, DGCA ordered an inquiry

IndiGo Wrong Flight Boarding Incident: IndiGo Airlines took a passenger to Rajasthan instead of Bihar. In this matter, on Friday (February 3), the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued an order for investigation. The DGCA said that the passenger was supposed to board an IndiGo flight to Patna, but instead he boarded another Indigo flight to Udaipur. An inquiry has been ordered in the matter.

The incident was reported on January 30 (Monday) and the passenger was sent to Patna the next day. A senior DGCA official said that a passenger named Afsar Hussain had booked a ticket to Patna via Indigo flight 6E-214. The passenger reached Delhi airport on January 30 to board the scheduled flight, but mistakenly boarded IndiGo’s Udaipur flight 6E-319.

Passenger reached Udaipur airport

The passenger realized the mistake only after landing at Udaipur airport. After which he informed the officials at Udaipur airport. Who later informed the airline about the matter. The airline reportedly flew him back to Delhi the same day and then to Patna on January 31. The DGCA official said that a report has been sought in this matter and appropriate action will be taken against the airline.

How did the passenger board the wrong flight?

He said that in the investigation, the DGCA will find out why the passenger’s boarding pass was not scanned properly and before boarding the boarding pass is checked at two places as per rules, then how did he board the wrong flight. In a statement issued on Friday, the airline said, “We are aware of the incident involving a passenger on 6E319 Delhi-Udaipur flight.” The airline said, “We are in talks with the authorities in this matter. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passenger.”

Second such incident in 20 days

This is the second such incident in IndiGo Airlines aircraft in the last 20 days. Earlier on January 13, a passenger who had a flight ticket and boarding pass for Indore boarded the wrong flight and reached Nagpur airport.
