TMC Workers Protest: West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress workers are protesting against the central government. Trinamool Congress leaders demand that the BJP government increase the retirement age of tea garden workers to 60 years. Along with this, scholarship and stipend should also be issued for the children of tea garden workers.

Information was given on the social media handle of Trinamool Congress about the protests being held in Kumargram. Raising the demand of the tea garden workers of Bengal, the leaders of the Trinamool Congress said that now they will not be allowed to be tortured. Trinamool Congress leaders gathered at the protest site said, “We demand to increase the retirement age for tea garden workers from 58 to 60 years. We want the BJP government to issue scholarship and stipend for the children of tea garden workers.

Demonstrations are being held in front of the residence of BJP MLAs and MPs

Trinamool Congress’s Alipurduar district president Prakash Chik Barak had said a day earlier, “We will protest in front of BJP MLA’s and MP’s residence every day from January 27 to February 5.” He said this is because hundreds of tea workers. Are facing provident fund related problems and are being denied their legitimate dues. Apart from this, the BJP government had made promises to help the tea workers, their families and the plantation industry as a whole, which have not materialized yet. Now Trinamool Congress is seeking answers from him on these issues.

The issue of minimum wage demand has also been arising.

Earlier, tea garden workers in West Bengal have protested demanding minimum wages. Tea garden workers in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts of West Bengal also demonstrated demanding the implementation of minimum wages.
