During the speech of the general budget, the Finance Minister has announced that the prosperity program will be run for the farmers through cooperation. Through this, 63000 Agri Societies will be computerized. This will help in making the farmers prosperous. Along with this, it has been announced that the pace of lending will be increased in the field of animal husbandry, fisheries and multipurpose corporate societies will be promoted. Along with this, the Finance Minister has also decided to start the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Palan Yojana. At the same time, the government has decided to promote agriculture through digital technology.
Farmers will be helped in digital way
Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told that digital public infrastructure will be created to help the farmers. From here, farmers will be given information on agriculture related planning, loan, insurance and how to increase the production of crops. Along with this, with the help of this digital public infrastructure, farmers will also get help regarding how to sell their crops in the market at a good price.
Startups related to farming will get a boost
Presenting the Budget 2023, the Finance Minister said that the Government of India will provide better funds to promote startups in the agriculture sector. The government will provide all possible help to promote the young entrepreneurs of rural areas. With the help of the funds that the government will provide for the agriculture sector, the everyday problems of the farmers will be solved. With the help of this fund, it will also help in promoting the agri-tech industry.
Government will pay more attention to cotton crop
In the budget 2023, more attention has been given to the cotton crop. The government has said that it will form a public-private partnership, with the help of which farmers will benefit in its production and trade. Public Private Partnership means that it will be a kind of relationship that will be established between the farmer, the state government and the industry.
2200 crores for clean plant program
Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned the self-sufficient clean plant program and she announced Rs 2,200 crore for it. Clean plant program means planting such crops in the fields which are disease free and from whose plants high value quality grains are produced.
India will become global hub for Millet
Presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said that India is the second largest exporter of millet in the world. We produce various types of ‘Shri Anna’. These include Jowar, Ragi, Bajra, Kuttu, Ramdana, Kangni, Kutki, Kodo, Chhina and Sama. All these coarse grains are very beneficial for our health. Farmers are helping in improving the health of the people by producing Shree Anna. The Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad will be of great help in making India a global hub in the matter of Sree Anna. This institute has been telling the research technology related to millets at the international level and its better production methods.
6000 crores for fisheries
Presenting the Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced benefits under the ‘PM Matsya Sampada Yojana’ to the farmers engaged in fish farming. Under this, an amount of Rs 6000 crore has been allocated, which will be used to help small traders engaged in fish farming and selling fish. The Government of India wants to expand the field of fish farming at the international level.
Helping farmers through cooperatives
The government wants to develop a cooperative based economic system for small farmers. To help these farmers, the government will run the ‘Saharkar se Samridhi’ scheme. For this, the government has computerized 63000 agri societies by spending Rs 2516 crore.
promotion of natural farming
To promote natural farming, the Government of India will encourage one crore farmers for natural farming. This work will be done in the coming 3 years. At the same time, 10000 Bio Input Research Centers will also be established. Emphasis will be given on micro fertilizer for natural farming and along with this, full attention will also be paid to man grown plantation.
