Hindu Pilgrims Of India Got Visa For Katas Raj Temples: The Pakistan High Commission has issued visas to a group of 114 Hindu pilgrims from India to visit Shri Katas Raj Temple in Chakwal district of Punjab province from February 12 to 22. The Pakistan High Commission located in New Delhi gave this information on Wednesday (February 15). The Pakistan High Commission said in a statement that the issuance of visas to Sikh and Hindu pilgrims is in line with the efforts of the Government of Pakistan to facilitate travel to religious places.
Pakistani ambassador congratulated
Ambassador-in-Charge of the Pakistan High Commission in India Salman Sharif extended best wishes to the Hindu pilgrims for the spiritually important pilgrimage. He said that Pakistan is committed to the protection of holy places and providing all possible assistance to pilgrims of all religions.
Under the 1974 bilateral protocol on visits to religious places, Hindu pilgrims are being made to visit the Shri Katas Raj Temple. Katas Raj Temple is also famous by the name Qila Katas. It is a famous pilgrimage of Hindus in the Namak Koh mountain range in the northern part of Punjab province of Pakistan. The Katas Raj temple was built by the Khatana Gurjar dynasty. There is also an ancient Shiva temple here.

Visas for Hindu pilgrims increased from last year
Last year, the Pakistan High Commission had also issued visas for the visit of Shri Katasraj temples from 20-25 December. Then 96 visas were issued for Indian Hindu pilgrims to visit these temples located in Chakwal district of Punjab.
According to historians and archeology department, this place is called Shiva Netra. It is believed that two tears fell from Lord Shiva’s eyes when Goddess Parvati committed sati. One of these tears fell on Katas and became nectar. Here, even today this Amrit Kund is in the form of a pilgrimage in the form of Katas Raj. The second tear fell in Ajmer, Rajasthan, where the Pushkar Raj pilgrimage site is today.
