PM Modi talks to Joe Biden: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Had a phone conversation with US President Joe Biden on Tuesday (February 14). According to news agency PTI, Prime Minister Modi invited Boeing and other American companies to expand the civil aviation sector in India and make use of the opportunities. The two leaders welcomed the first meeting of the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET) in Washington DC recently and expressed their desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation in space, semi-conductors, defense and other areas.
Emphasis on strengthening relations between the two countries
In the conversation, emphasis was also laid on strengthening the mutual relations between the common people of both the countries and both the leaders also agreed to it. To ensure its success, the two leaders also agreed to remain in touch during India’s presidency of the G-20.
On the other hand, US President Joe Biden has praised this agreement. He has described this agreement as historic. Biden said that America can and will lead the world in manufacturing. He said, ‘I am proud to announce the agreement and purchase between Air India and Boeing today.’ Biden said that together with Prime Minister Modi, he is looking forward to further deepening the relationship between India and America.
Air India will buy 220 Boeing aircraft
Indian airline company Air India will soon buy 220 Boeing aircraft from America. 34 billion rupees will be spent on this. Air India is going to buy aircraft for the first time in the last 17 years. This is the first order after coming under the ownership of the Tata group. Earlier in the year 2005, an order was placed for the purchase of 111 aircraft. In this, the order for 68 aircraft was received by Boeing and 43 by Airbus. Tata bought Air India on 27 January 2022.
