Manoj Bajpayee On Stardom: Manoj Bajpayee, one of the most talented actors of Bollywood, has worked in more than one film. At present, the actor is busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Gulmohar’. Recently, during the promotion of the film, Manoj Bajpayee was asked in an interview whether he felt like a star. In response to this question, while talking about ‘stardom’, Manoj gave the example of Bollywood emperors Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. He said that the audience respects me because of my work but the reaction of the audience is very different for Shahrukh and Salman.

Manoj said that every Sunday a huge crowd gathers outside Amitabh Bachchan’s house as he shows his fans a glimpse of himself. Shahrukh Khan has recently been doing gratitude to his fans outside his house Mannat almost every week. At the same time, Salman Khan is also seen in the balcony of his Galaxy apartment on his birthday and special occasions. On seeing these actors, the fans shout, cheer and wave their hands.

In an interview to RJ Siddharth Kannan, Manoj said, “Star pata hai kya hota hai? Star hota hai Bachchan Saab’s bungalow se kabhi kabhi guzarta ho rasta jam hota hai. At the age of 80, people see him standing in large numbers on Sundays. Look at Salman Khan, he has to lathi charge. The man just waves his hand from his balcony. The whole world comes to see Shahrukh. Manoj further says, “What are we, the audience who look at us with respect. ‘You do a great job, we watch a lot of your films.’ As soon as Salman, Shah Rukh are there, they shout. We see our audience very differently and react accordingly.”

On the work front, Manoj also has courtroom drama ‘Banda’ in the pipeline. This film is the first film made under the direction of Apoorva Singh Karki. Soon Manoj will be seen in the upcoming family drama ‘Gulmohar’. Directed by Rahul Chittela, the film also stars Sharmila Tagore, Simran and Suraj Sharma in pivotal roles. It is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from March 3.
