Anurag Kashyap on Abhay Deol: Bollywood’s famous director Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ is going to be released soon. Presently the director is busy promoting his upcoming film. While remembering Sushant Singh during an interview, Anurag revealed that the actor’s death made him regret that what he had said about Abhay Deol was not correct.
Earlier Anurag was very reactive
In an interview to News 18, Anurag said, “It took me a year and a half to understand many things because of the illness. Earlier I used to be very reactive. I used to say some things in anger. It took a while to realize that I was shouting in a room full of people where everyone is shouting and no one is listening to me or each other. This is what social media has become today.
Anurag has decided to keep his opinions low
Anurag, known for his unfiltered behavior and honesty, is often embroiled in controversies. However, now he has decided to reduce his words and opinion. He says, “I stepped back from that[version of me]and asked myself why I was reacting to things and what was bothering me. I told myself, ‘Let’s work on that and Finds ways to say it in such a way that it reaches people.
Anurag Kashyap talked about Abhay’s tantrums
At the same time, during the interview, Anurag Kashyap also talked about Abhay Deol. He said, “Somebody had written an article that why good actors like Abhay Deol are not doing films? Then I talked about my experience with Abhay and said that he had thrown tantrums during one of my films. It was something that happened about thirteen years back, later I realized that there was no need to say all this publicly.
Forced to apologize to Abhay after Sushant’s death
Kashyap revealed that actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise in June 2020 forced him to call Abhay Deol and apologise. Anurag said, “The day the unfortunate incident happened with SSR made me feel very bad. Three weeks before that, someone told me that he was trying to contact me because he wanted to talk to me. But I refused because he (Sushant) had not done one of my films. I still regret that why I did not meet him. It was because of this guilt that I reached out to Abhay and apologized to him as someone had told me that he was angry with me because I had spoken publicly about him.
Anurag is happy with Abhay’s comeback
Anurag further said, “I told him that he can shout at me. But I wanted him to tell me that he is fine. That episode also made me realize that I don’t need to speak about everything. I came to know that he is still upset but I am ready to apologize to him again. I can apologize to him ten times. But I am glad that a brilliant actor like Abhay is back. He is great!
