Avalanche warning in 12 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, people advised to take precautions


Jammu Kashmir Avalanche Warning: The Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Management Authority has issued a warning regarding the possibility of avalanches in 12 districts including Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch in the next 24 hours. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has issued a ‘moderate danger’ warning for districts that are located at an altitude of 2,000 to 2,500 metres. These districts include Anantnag, Bandipore, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Kulgam, Doda, Kishtwar and Poonch.

At the same time, an avalanche warning has been issued in Reasi, Rajouri and Ramban districts with the level of ‘low danger’. These districts are above an altitude of 2,500 meters. The SDMA said that people living in these areas should be careful. Along with this, people have been advised to avoid going to avalanche prone areas.
