Tomato Price In Jharkhand: In the Kharif season, the farmers were in a bad condition due to floods, rains and drought. Farmers’ crops worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed. The farmer could not recover properly from this that the crops started dying in the cold and frost. After this, the hail and rain that fell a few days ago have also caused a lot of damage to the farmers. But the loss of farmers’ crops does not end here. Other reasons also trouble the farmers. Even in Jharkhand, farmers are facing a lot of loss at this time.

Vegetable prices fall in Jharkhand
In Jharkhand’s Hazari Bagh, the prices of vegetables have fallen sharply in the last ten days. Farmers say that at these prices they are not even able to meet their cost. If he is bringing vegetables to the market by filling them in a vehicle, then he has to pay the fare from his own pocket. For the first time in the last 10 years, such a bad condition of the prices of vegetables has been seen.

Rs 3 kg tomato, Rs 2 cauliflower
Farmers told that in the last 3 days, there has been a rapid decline in the prices of green vegetables. Cauliflower at Rs.2 per kg, cabbage, tomatoes at Rs.3 per kg, brinjal at Rs.7 per kg, bottle gourd at Rs.6, peas at Rs.10, broccoli at Rs.1.5 per kg, beans at Rs.10 per kg are being sold to farmer traders. At the same time, the prices of vegetables have become so bad in the markets as well. Cauliflower, cabbage is available at Rs.3 per kg, while tomato is available up to Rs.5 per kg.

Farming by taking loan did not even cover the cost
A farmer from Hazaribagh said that there has been less rainfall in this area. Its effect was already visible on the crop. It was expected that the crop which would be sold in the present time. There will be some earning from that. But this did not happen. Many farmers did farming by taking loans. But due to the bad condition of the price, it is difficult to repay even the loan. For this reason, a large number of farmers are leaving the vegetables in the field only.

why is it so bad
Experts of the local market say that such a bad condition of the price of the farmers’ crop has happened due to the difference between demand and supply. As long as cauliflower and tomato were not coming in the market, their prices were fine. People were buying. But now a large number of farmers have reached to sell these vegetables in the market at the same time. While there are not so many buyers of these vegetables. Since there is a danger of spoiling the vegetables if they are not sold. In such a situation, cauliflower, tomato and other vegetables are being sold in the market at a quarter to a quarter price.
