Museums Named After Veer Savarkar in India: The Government of India has answered a question related to museums associated with freedom fighter and nationalist leader Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in Parliament. Union North Eastern Region Development, Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy has given a written reply in this regard in the Lok Sabha.
In fact, Shiv Sena MP from Nashik Hemant Tukaram Godse had asked the question ‘Is it true that there are very few or no museums relating to Veer Savarkar and other leaders of our freedom struggle, national movement and nationalism?’
There is not a single museum named after Savarkar
In a written reply, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy provided a list in the House, according to which, there are many museums in the country which are related to freedom struggle, national movement and leaders of nationalism but not a single one is dedicated to Veer Savarkar. Minister Reddy has shared the list of 15 such museums across the country.

In the list shared by Minister G. Kishan Reddy, the names of 15 museums were counted, in Delhi’s Red Fort Museum 1857 – India’s first freedom struggle, Yaad-e-Jallian in Red Fort, Red Fort itself Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army, Freedom Fighters in the Red Fort itself, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Veer Vitthalbhai Patel Memorial Museum and Library in Anand, Gujarat, Birsa Munda Museum in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Amar Shaheed in Morena, Madhya Pradesh Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil Museum, Mahatma Gandhi Museum at Aga Khan Palace in Pune, Maharashtra, INA Museum in Imphal, Manipur, Netaji Janmasthan Museum in Cuttack, Odisha, Fort St. George Museum in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, 1857 Residency Museum in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh , Pandit GB Pant Lok Folk Art Museum, Freedom Fighters Museum on behalf of Cantonment Board Office in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh and Netaji Research Bureau in Kolkata, West Bengal.
