Odisha Minister Naba Kishore Das Update: Odisha’s Health Minister Naba Kishore Das has been fatally attacked on Sunday (January 29). Allegedly a policeman opened fire on them. The condition of the minister is said to be critical. The minister has been airlifted from Jharsuguda to the capital Bhubaneswar with a team of experts and life support system. Das has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where he is undergoing treatment. It is being told that at present he is in the operation theater of Apollo Hospital.

After getting information about the matter, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also immediately reached Apollo Hospital and inquired about the condition of Minister Nab Kishore Das. He spoke to the minister’s son and expressed condolences to the family members. Some pictures have come to the fore, in which CM Patnaik is seen giving courage to the minister’s son.

When and who attacked Naba Das?

According to reports, shots were fired at minister Nab Kishore Das at Brajrajnagar in Odisha at around 12.30 pm on Sunday, when he had arrived to attend a program. Brajrajnagar’s SDPO Gupteshwar Bhoi informed the media that an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) Gopal Das opened fire on the minister. At first the minister was told that he had been hit by four bullets, but then it was told that he had been hit by two bullets. The accused ASI has been taken into custody and he is being interrogated. The reason why the accused attacked the minister has not been revealed at the moment.

According to the news agency ANI, the Crime Branch will investigate the matter. Crime Branch’s Additional DG Arun Bothra along with his team has left for Brajrajnagar to investigate the incident.

What did the eyewitnesses of the murderous attack on the minister see?

Earlier, an eyewitness lawyer Ram Mohan Rao told that the accused policeman had fired at the minister from point blank range. Rao said, “The incident was carried out at Gandhi Chowk at around 12.30 pm when Das had arrived to attend a program. There was a bullet in his left chest, due to which he was seriously injured.

Rao further said, “Naba Das was invited as the chief guest at the inauguration of a public grievance center. When he arrived, a crowd gathered to welcome him. Suddenly a gunshot was heard. We saw the policeman running away after firing at close range.
