Sale of flour will start from February 6

The central government has made its stand very clear regarding the price of flour and its sale. According to the statement of the Union Food Ministry, cooperative societies like Kendriya Bhandar and Nafed will be able to sell flour at Rs 29.5 per kg. National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India Limited and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India will start selling flour at this price from 6 February. The common consumer will easily get flour at such a price at government outlets.

Now flour is being sold for more than Rs 40 per kg

It is the endeavor of the Central Government that the price of flour remains around or below Rs.30 per kg. But at present, the sale of wheat in many mandis of the country has gone up to Rs.50 per kg. However, in most of the states, the prices of wheat remain between 35 to 40 rupees. According to this, the cost of flour is more.

30 lakh metric tonnes of wheat launched in the market

How concerned is the central government to reduce the price of wheat and flour in the country. According to the report, a year ago the all India daily retail price of flour was Rs 31.14 per kg, which has now increased to more than Rs 38 per kg. To reduce this price, the central government has taken steps. 30 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been unloaded in the market. The central government hopes that with this step, the inflation of wheat will be reduced considerably.

A meeting was held regarding this at the level of officers of Central Food and Public Distribution. Distribution Secretary Sanjeev Chopra told that a meeting was held with officials of Food Corporation of India, Kendriya Bhandar, Nafed and NCCF. It has been decided in the meeting that all these institutions will lift up to 3 lakh metric tonnes of wheat from FCI depots.

This wheat will be made into flour. After that, retail shops, mobile vans etc. will have to sell flour to consumers at Rs 29.5 per kg. At the same time, wheat can also be allotted to state governments/union territory corporations, cooperative societies, federations or self-help groups from the center at the rate of Rs 23.5 per kg. But these consumers will have to sell at Rs 29.5 per kg of flour only.
