Union Budget 2023: Criticizing the Budget 2023, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi called it anti-poor. Sonia Gandhi said that the Modi government cut the expenditure of social schemes made during the UPA. In an article published in a national newspaper, Sonia Gandhi targeted PM Modi and said that the Prime Minister’s policy of benefiting his friends at the cost of the poor and the middle class is taking the country towards destruction.

Pointing to the Adani case, Sonia Gandhi said the deposits of common people are in danger because the government is pressurizing trusted public institutions like LIC and SBI to invest in the company of PM’s friends.

He said that by reducing the allocation for the poor and vulnerable in the budget, their condition has been worsened. He called it a silent strike by the Modi government on the poor. Sonia Gandhi said that the promise of independence was not only to fulfill the basic needs of the people but also to give a good life to every Indian.

He said that this silent strike has taken place at a time when our economic condition continues to be pathetic. Asking questions to the PM, he wrote, what was the need for this attack on social schemes during this crisis.

Sonia Gandhi said tauntingly, on one hand the PM and his ministers are giving slogans of Amrit Kaal and Vishwaguru, on the other hand the economic scam related to PM’s favorite industrialist is being exposed.
